The Pennsylvania Lottery

Keep on scratching, Miami.

The Chicago Bulls shocked the basketball world when they came away with the #1 pick in the upcoming NBA draft. They came in with the 9th best odds, and with less than a 2% chance of winning the lottery, they won the right to be on the clock first. Obviously since the Sixers made the playoffs, they were not participants in the lottery, and they would've had even worse odds anyway. The lottery is pretty exciting, but it's still nice to not be represented. That means the Sixers are on the right track. Here is a list of current Sixers picks according to popular mock drafts across the web, courtesy of Foul Pops on PhilaPhans.

Looking at that list of players, it's clear where the Sixers need help. Arthur, Speights and Greene show the Sixers need low post help badly. Augistin and Westbrook show they need a young PG. Alexander represents the need for a shooter.

I wasn't sure that Alexander's stock was that good, but he fits a need, so I wouldn't mind that pick. Westbrook is a guy I'm not a fan of. Heck of a basketball player, but he's kind of redundant with other players on the team and doesn't seem like a "true" PG. Augistin seems like the better guy for something like that, if he stays in the draft.

It's still early, and some of these guys might not even be in the draft. A lot is going to change, and I'll be here covering the draft every step of the way.
